eIDAS & eIDAS 2.0 – Certification of Trust Services and Electronic Identification
Regulation (EU) No. 910/2014 (eIDAS) and its revision, eIDAS 2.0, establish the European legal framework for electronic identification and trust services. The objective of the Regulation is to enable secure, interoperable and legally recognised electronic transactions throughout the Member States of the European Union.
Elektrotechnický zkušební ústav (EZÚ) is an accredited Conformity Assessment Body (CAB) for services covered by the eIDAS Regulation. Following the extension of its accreditation, EZÚ now also performs conformity assessment of the new qualified trust services introduced by eIDAS 2.0, which form the foundation of the future European Digital Identity (EUDI) ecosystem.
The eIDAS Regulation also covers electronic identification (eID), enabling secure and cross-border recognition of electronic identities when accessing public and private sector services. EZÚ performs conformity assessment of electronic identification systems in accordance with the requirements of eIDAS and the relevant European specifications.
Qualified Trust Services under eIDAS and eIDAS 2.0
EZÚ provides conformity assessment of qualified trust services in accordance with Regulation (EU) No. 910/2014 (eIDAS), including the new services introduced by eIDAS 2.0. Our accreditation covers:
- Issuance of qualified certificates for electronic signatures
- Issuance of qualified certificates for electronic seals
- Issuance of qualified certificates for website authentication
- Issuance of qualified electronic time stamps
- Qualified validation service for qualified electronic signatures and/or qualified electronic seals
- Qualified preservation service for qualified electronic signatures and/or qualified electronic seals
- Qualified electronic registered delivery service
- Qualified remote QSCD management service
- Issuance of qualified electronic attestations of attributes

Pre-audit – assessment of the organisation’s readiness for certification
Certification audit – conformity assessment and certificate issuance
Surveillance audit – periodic verification of continued compliance
Recertification audit – renewal of certification upon expiry
